Happy thanksgiving!
We don't actually celebrate it here in Belgium, but I've heard it's kind of a big family event on the other side of the Atlantic. No idea if it's celebrated in Canada, though.
But even if it isn't: hope you're all having a great Thanksgiving or a nice lazy Saturday.
We had the "sinterklaas" party at my worktoday so my kids got candy and a bag of Danone goodness, and I was happy enough to go to my workplace without actually having to work. Everyone happy.
And with this rambling, I announce my return 🙂
Many thanks, BBR! I believe a version of Thanksgiving is celebrated in South Korea. In some places in northern Mexico families will also eat turkey, but it's not the full-blown celebration it is in the US.
Hope you and your family enjoy the holidays!
Heya, Zulu (it used to be Zolu, wasn't it?)! How have you been these last few years? Glad to see some familiar names now. Murdalok, you, that Bender guy...
There weren't any real holidays for us yet (Sinterklaas is just presents for the kids), and even though I no longer work weekends, I still have to work New Years Eve, but I've got a good feeling about Christmas 😉
Yes, "Zolu" was due to a typo by my 13-year-old self that was later corrected by the mods (Martin, specifically). I'm doing great! A lot more work and wrinkles, but happily trudging along 😊 I understand what you mean about holidays. I'll be working some on New Year's, and I work every other weekend when work demands it. I will have the week of Christmas off, but that's largely due to working overtime in November. But good things come with hard work, as you know. How are the kids doing?
I believe Ulti, our resident Luxembourger, has also posted here. Hopefully more drop by as time goes on.
Glad to hear you're doing alright!
Kids are doing great. Their Christmas reportcards were nearly perfect. Our youngest is in first elementary grade now and it's amazing how well she can read and write already. Our eldest is in the last elementary class and got 87% on her reportcard. And our second one is in top of her class, so really, my kids are doing wonderful.
And same with me. I quit my job of 11 years 3 years ago because I was having a burnout. Working weekends ain't too bad, but that job was just bad. Now I work nightshifts in Danone and I couldn't be happier with my job. Great colleagues, great paycheck and great work itself.
Let's hope some others find their way back here too. I'm wondering how piet11111 , White Knight et al are doing too.
And Ulti and Murdalok, if you guys are reading this, chime in! How are you guys doing!?
